Mr Rajan Adhikari, the tallest living person in Nepal and the world’s second tallest individual measuring 2.21 metres (7’ 3”), has embarked on a world tour carrying the message of world peace and love around the world. Mr Adhikari is traveling the world with his companion, Mr Chitra Poudel, Nepal’s first a ‘differently-abled’ cyclist.

The first phase of the world tour covers India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei. The second phase will cover other countries.

Following stops in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, Mr Adhikari and Mr Poudel both arrived in Thailand on 1 June 2007 and made a courtesy call to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) head-office on Petchaburi Road.

Mr Adhikari and Mr Poudel met with Mr Suraphon Svetasreni, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications.

“Our objective is to spread the message of peace and love in a world suffering from violence, intolerance and hatred and spreading the message of humanitarian brotherhood all over the world”, Mr Adhikari explains.

Other major objectives include raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and narcotic drugs, speaking against child labour and exploitation and providing inspiration and love to disabled individuals around the world.

Mr Adhikari and Mr Poudel are also assuming the role of ‘ambassadors’ of Nepalese culture, working to forge friendly relations wherever their travels take them.

“We would like to introduce the natural beauty of Nepal, Nepali culture and Nepali people, their warm hospitality to the people of all countries of the world,” Mr Adhikari added.
